Historic Oliver Sturgis House
Reynolds Square The Oliver Sturgis House, which dates to 1813, was built for Oliver Sturgis, one of the planners and promoters of the steamship Savannah. The late Georgian style townhouse features an elliptical fanlight over the entrance, and an arched window over the portico. An octagon shaped room was added to the rear of the building before 1819, and a third story was added about 1835. A twin to this house, built for Benjamin Burroughs, once occupied the adjacent lot, which is now the site of the Pink House restaurant. The Sturgis House was one of several treasures saved by the Historic Savannah Foundation. It is currently occupied by Morris Multimedia, Inc.
