Savannah Tours
Savannah Tours - Historic District
In order to make the most of your visit, we recommend that start with a visit to the Savannah Visitor Center in the restored Central of Georgia railroad station at 301 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, where you can get oriented by taking a tour or picking up maps and other helpful information. The visitor center is also home to the Savannah History Museum
If you are new to the city and interested in taking one of the regular Savannah tours, we recommend that you start with a “hop on – hop off” tour of the Historic District. We like “Old Town Trolley Tours,” but most will give you a thorough overview of the city and its history. Most of these tours leave from the Visitor Center, but you can board the Old Town Trolley at any of their 15 convenient stops. You can expect to pay from $20 to $25 for a full day of riding around.

Not to worry if you are on a serious budget. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that there is also a shuttle called the “CAT Shuttle” which runs throughout the historic district, and guess what? It’s FREE!!! The bad news is that there is no narration, so unless you have researched the entire route, you won’t really know what you are passing unless it is well marked. We suggest starting with the “hop on - hop off” tour on the first day to get a good overview, and then take the free shuttle to get around once you know where you want to go and what you want to see.
There is so much to see in Savannah that it is not surprising to find so many tour companies offering so many different tours. We’ve listed the shuttle, bus and trolley tours on this page, and provided links for carriage tours, walking tours and themed tours below. We’ve also listed the types of tours available from each company. Interested in Ghosts? Movies? Romance? Architecture? “The Book?” You’ve come to the right place. There is truly a tour for everyone.
